PURPOSE:To increase the first speed by operating a specific developing device supply operation system in a storage device of plural developing devices or the like to transport a selected developing device to an image forming device body at the time of operating a developing device selecting key. CONSTITUTION:When the next color developing device (a green developing device 19) is selected by the developing device selecting key, a storage device Y of plural developing devices is operated to set the selected color developing device to the position from which the color developing device can be supplied to an image forming device body X'. Consequently, the selected color developing device is supplied only by carrying from the storage part to a developing operation avoiding position and movement to a developing operation position when image formation is started by an image forming key. Thus, the time required for the start of practical image formation after turning-on of the image forming key is shortened to increase the image forming speed, especially, the first speed.
