PURPOSE:To substantially evade status to lose a data, by providing plural ID information areas on every block, and setting an ID information detecting condition at the time of recording more strictly than the one at the time of reproduction. CONSTITUTION:It is necessary to set an ID detecting condition at the time of recording more strictly to make sure the detection of a bit of ID information at the time of reproduction. For this reason, at least the detection of two pieces of ID information are required at the time of recording, and when two pieces of ID information are not detected, the recording of a data on the block is prohibited, and an alternate processing in which the data is recorded on an alternate area (a) is performed as necessary. Such prohibit and alternate processing is controlled by a control circuit 30. In other words, an optical disk device is arranged in a recording mode, the bit of ID information detected normally out of four pieces of ID information via a shift register 11 for an ID is inputted to the control circuit 30 sequentially, and the control circuit 30, in the case of receiving two or more pieces of ID information, inputs a signal to indicate to start a recording operation to a recording/reproducing operation timing circuit 18.
