PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency and the quality of software by providing the titled device with a constitutional element registering means, a constitutional element input means, an editing means for executing edition such as the addition, deletion, change, copying, and movement of constitutional elements, and a display means for displaying a tree structure chart during the formation of the chart. CONSTITUTION:Required constitutional elements are inputted by the constitutional element registering means 15 and the constitutional element inputting means 14 on the basis of the three structure chart displayed on the display means 16. At that time, required edition is executed by the editing means 13 and edition can be also executed from the tree structure chart formed in the past if necessary. Consequently, the working efficiency is improved and the finally obtained three structure chart is edited, so that the chart can be extremely easily observed and the quality of software formed on the basis of the chart can be improved.
