<p>PURPOSE:To securely prevent a vehicle from being stolen by storing information for specifying the operator of the vehicle or the like into such an information medium has license or the like, reading out the information in the vehicle or the like, and then comparing it with preregistered information so as to release a lock mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor memory device 11 storing the license number of a person himself therein is incorporated in a license 10, while on a vehicle there is mounted a memory device 13 storing the license number of the owner of the vehicle. At the time of using the vehicle, the license number stored in the memory device 11 of the license 10 is read out by means of read-out device 12, and then, to be compared with contents stored in the memory device 13 by the use of a comparing device 14. Thereat, in the case of the accord therebetween in the comparison result, a lock mechanism 2 is released so as to enable a handle operation, while in the case of the disaccord, the lock is kept in the locked state. In addition, in the case of the accord, a switch 17 is turned on so as make the license number of a renter writable in the memory device 13 through a write device 15.</p> |
