PURPOSE:To suppress the unnecessary operation of a steering ratio converting device by furnishing a device to detect that the car speed control is being performed by an acceleration device or a car speed restoration device, and restricting the operation of a steering ratio converting device when the speed control is being performed. CONSTITUTION:A controller 53 has a steering ratio setting device 56 to find the steering ratio between the front and the rear wheels responding to the car speed, and a detecting device 58 to detect that a car speed control is being performed by an acceleration device or a car speed restoration device 73. And when the car speed control is being performed by the acceleration device 71 or the car speed restoration device 73, the operation of a stepping motor 50 is stopped, and the execution of the steering ratio control is prohibited until the car speed control is finished. Therefore, the unnecessary operation of the steering ratio converting device such as the stepping motor 50 in a car speed control condition is suppressed and its heating can be prevented. |
