PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body which obviates flawing of the surface and has excellent weatherability by forming a surface protective layer of an amorphous hydrocarbon film which is formed by a glow discharge method and contains a group III atom. of the periodic table. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer 2 and the surface protective layer 1 consisting of the amorphous hydrocarbon film are successively laminated on a conductive substrate 3 consisting of aluminum, etc. The photosensitive layer 2 is formed by laminating a single selenium arsenic layer or a selenium layer and selenium-tellurium alloy layer successively on the substrate 3. At least the group III atom. of the periodic table is incorporated into the amorphous hydrocarbon film of such surface protective layer 1. The surface protective layer 1 which is harder, is resistant to flawing, has moisture resistance, assures adequate electric chargeability and has excellent light transmittability is thereby obtd. |
