PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copper alloy having high strength, elasticity, and conductivity and excellent in bendability, plating reliability, and stress relaxation property, by preparing a plate stock of a copper alloy in which compositional limit values of Ni, Ti, Zn, etc., are limited, respectively, and by subjecting the above stock to solution heat treatment, cold rolling, and aging treatment. CONSTITUTION:A plate stock of a copper alloy having a composition which consists of, by weight, 1.0-4.0% Ni, 0.5-2.0% Ti, 0.1-3.0% Zn, and the balance copper with inevitable impurities and further contains, if necessary, 0.01-0.5% of one or more elements among Zr, Mg, P, and B and in which proportion of Ni/Ti by percentage is regulated to 1.2-3.3 is prepared. This plate stock is subjected to solution heat treatment at >=900 deg.C, cold-rolled to the final thick ness, and aged at 400-600 deg.C for 5-720min so as to be formed into the titled alloy. Moreover, it is desirable that cold rolling is carried out plural times by exerting one or more periods of process annealing at 700-800 deg.C for 1-60min.
