PURPOSE:To prevent knocking from occurring, by installing a means, altering a valve closing range of a suction control valve according to the octane value of gasoline and also another means opening a suction valve at the time of accleration. CONSTITUTION:A suction passage 2 is divided into two parts by a partition wall 30, and suction control valve 24 is installed in one side of these suction passages. And, there is provided with a device which judges the octane value of gasoline, and also there is provided with a device which alters a valve closing range of the suction control value 24 according to whether ordinary gasoline or premium gasoline. In addition, at the time of the ordinary gasoline, the suction control valve 24 is opened as long as the specified time, and at time of the premium gasoline, an accelerating control means which opens it for longer time than this specified time is provided. With this constitution, even if the ordinary gasoline is put into an engine of premium gasoline specifications by mistake, the occurrence of knocking is preventable. |
