发明名称 PRODUCTION OF ALUMINA BASED FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an alumina based fiber having a high strength and high elasticity with hardly any dispersion, by reacting an aluminum compound with water in a specific proportion, blending the resultant polyaluminoxane with a specific amount of a silicon compound, spinning the obtained blend and firing the fiber. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum compound expressed by the formula AlR1R2R3 (R1, R2 and R3 are organic group or halogen) is mixed and reacted with water at 1.01-1.45, preferably 1.10-1.40 molar ratio (H2O/AlR1R2R3) to provide a polyaluminoxane expressed by the formula (Y is one or more of organic group, halogen and hydroxyl group), which is then mixed with a silicon compound in an amount to provide <=70%, preferably 60% silica content in the fibers after firing and spun to afford a precursor fiber, which is subsequently fired to provide an alumina based fiber suitable as a reinforcing fiber for composite materials used in aircraft parts.
