PURPOSE:To manufacture swamp shoes having small variation in thickness and weight at low cost in manufacturing the swamp shoes for caterpillar vehicles, by press-forming a plate rolled beforehand to thicken the top of the shoe. CONSTITUTION:A plate material 1 for shoe is rolled by a tapered rolls 2, 2 and a platelike blank thickened in the central part is manufactured. This is cut to proper length and holes for insertion of bolts are pierced. After heating this to 500-1,000 deg.C, it is placed on a die 5 having a shape of shoe. Both ends of it are fixed by blank holders 6, and a punch 7 is lowered to press-form the blank 3 under heating. After cutting off burrs generated at this time, wear resistance is improved by processing such as carburizing, nitriding, etc. Then, a link fitting plate 9 manufactured by a separate process is fixed to the center of opening side of the body of the shoe. Thus, a swamp shoe excellent in wear resistance is manufactured. |
