PURPOSE:To attain pattern formation giving higher grade feeling than that given by conventional processes, by forming a pattern, etc. with metallic foil on the surface of a molded body by executing metallic hot stamping on the surface of a molded plastic body, then executing coating of a crepe paint on said molded body. CONSTITUTION:A pattern or a character is formed with metallic foil (e.g. 'KD1 Gold(R)' manufactured by Murata Kinpaku K.K.) on the surface of a molded plastic body by executing metallic hot stamping, then a crepe paint (e.g. pattern paint having a trade name 'Chijimi(R)' manufactured by Osaka Varnish K.K.) is coated on the molded body and baked at, for example, 80 deg.C for 60min. As a result, delicate effect as if a grain pattern is formed on the surface is obtd. without forming a relief artificially on the surface of the metallic foil. Moreover, a contrast of profound feeling is formed by the parts coated with the metallic foil and those uncoated with the metallic foil. Thus, higher grade feeling which has not been created by the conventional processes is given to the product.
