PURPOSE:To efficiently drive the title device by composing to displace the central axis of part of a large metal of an asymmetrical Langevin type piezoelectric vibrator. CONSTITUTION:Two piezoelectric units 1, 2 having input terminals 3, 4 are held fixedly by a large metal column 5 and metal column 6, part 7 of one column 5 is composed to be slightly displaced from the central axis or the center of the column 5. When an AC electric field is applied from an oscillator to a vibrator 8, a traveling wave of surface displacement is generated in the direction of an arrow A at the end face of part 7 of the metal 5 by the combination of the longitudinal vibrations and the deflecting vibrations of the vibrator 8 and the metal 5. When this traveling wave is utilized to contact a driven unit 9 with the end face, if a traveling wave is generated in the direction of an arrow A at the vibrator 8, the unit 9 is pressed by the traveling wave to move in the direction of an arrow B of the same direction. |
