PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy and efficiency of correction work, by a method wherein correction quantity is operated from a reference height and the angles of inclination detected by a canting setting device and a level and the motor for allowing a front reference part to rise and fall is driven corresponding to said correction quantity to allow a photodetector to rise and fall by the correction quantity. CONSTITUTION:A canting setting device 31 and a level 20 are connected to a reference rail change-over device for changing over a reference rail corresponding to the right and left curves of a rail track. Correction quantity lambda is operated from a reference height H and the angles theta1, theta2 of inclination detected by the canting setting device 31 and the level 20 according to formula I. The motor 27 for rising and falling of the motor control apparatus 33, which allows a photodetector to rise and fall, provided to the front reference part is driven corresponding to the correction quantity lambda to allow the photodetector to rise and fall by the correction quantity lambda. By this method, a track is corrected on the basis of laser beam even at the curved part of the track.
