PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the abrasion of a magnetic core, the breaking of wire of a detecting coil or the like, and to improve a durability, and to obtain a high reliability inputting pen by covering the magnetic core and the detecting coil, wound around the outer circumference of the core, by a protecting tube. CONSTITUTION:When the apex of the inputting pen is pressed to the surface of an input plate 14, a switch 5 comes to ON, and at the same time, a magnet field, generated from orthogonally intersecting electrodes 12, 13, acts to the detecting coil 2 through the protecting tube 8, and an induced voltage is generated at the detecting coil 2. The said induced voltage is led to an external part through a lead wire 4, connected by a switch, made to ON, and a shield wire 7. In these actions, because the magnetic core 1 is covered by the protecting tube 8, it is never abraded by a direct touch to the input plate 14, and because the detecting coil is covered by the protecting tube 8 as well, there is no fear that it is disconnected by the touch to other things.
