发明名称 ACTIVE CARBON ELECTRODE
摘要 PURPOSE:To simultaneously attain high filling and high conductivity of an electrode by mixing active carbon to be obtained through crushing of active carbon fibers with carbon to be obtained through crushing of carbon fibers followed by molding it using a binder such as Teflon or the like. CONSTITUTION:Active carbon to be obtained by crushing active carbon fibers is used. That is, an electrode is formed of a mixture of mainly active carbon having an aspect ratio of 3-100, a specific surface area of more than 100m<2>/g and an average diameter of 1-30mum, and of carbon powder obtained by crushing carbon fibers and having an aspect ratio of 3-100, a specific surface area less than 10cm<2>/g, an average diameter of 1-30mum and electric conductivity of more than 10 deg. (OMEGA.cm). Further, an amount of carbon powder to be mixed with the active carbon shall be about 1-20 wt. % to the active carbon. Mixing with more than this amount hardly improves the conductivity of the electrode. Thereby, improvement of filling density and high conductivity can be simultaneously attained.
