PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous operation of a reed switch, by providing a large number of the reed switches provided to a stem in a state inclined with respect to the NS direction of the magnet provided in a float movable up and down along the stem. CONSTITUTION:A float type liquid level meter 2 is constituted of a stem 3, one float 5 movable up and down along the stem, the reed switches 14 arranged in the stem and one magnet 17 mounted to the float to act on the reed switches. Herein, by arranging a large number of the reed switches 14 in a state inclined with respect to the NS direction of the magnet 17, a liquid level can be measured at a narrow interval. Further, since the difference of the irregularity between the sensitivities of the reed switches is reduced, erroneous operation can be prevented.
