NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I [X is CH2CHO, group shown by formula II or formula III (n is 0 or 1; R is alkyl; R' is lower alkyl); R2 is H or lower alkanoyl; R1, R3 and R4 are H or Y-R'' (Y is CO or SO2; R'' is alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, aralkyl or heterocyclic group containing N or O)]. USE:An antibacterial agent showing strong antibacterial effects on Gram-positive bacterial, Gram-negative bacterial, Mycoplasma, etc., and excellent bio availability efficiency. PREPARATION:For example, antibiotic M119-a shown by formula IV is reacted with an acid anhydride or an acyl halide in a solvent such as chloroform, etc., at 0-50 deg.C for 1hr - 2hr to give 2'-O-acyl derivative shown by formula V. Then, if necessary, this compound is reacted with a carboxylic acid in the presence of 1,3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide and optionally a base at -25-60 deg.C for 1hr - 6 days to give a compound shown by formula VI.
