PURPOSE:To execute an optical fiber transmission having a high performance by using a DFB-LD and an SMF, and forming an emitting end face of the SMF obliquely against a fiber axis and coupling it with a light receiving element. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constituted of an optical transmitter for using a distribution feedback type laser diode (DFB-LD) 3 as a light source, a single mode fiber (SMF) 14 having optical connectors 10, 11 of a low reflection type used for coupling between fibers, and an optical receiver having a mechanism for forming a fiber emitting end face 16 obliquely against a fiber axis and coupling it with a light receiving element 18. In such a way, both noise and a distortion are small, and a stable optical transmission device having a satisfactory transmission characteristic is obtained.
