PURPOSE:To manufacture a phenolic resin foam molded body under the state that no bubble due to foaming aged, steam and the like is left inside a skin layer at all by a method wherein a sheet made of fibrous material is set on the inner surface of a mold and, after that, liquid resole type phenolic resin containing foaming agent and acid hardening agent is poured in the mold so as to foam and harden it by heating. CONSTITUTION:A felt made of phenolic resin fibers is pasted on the inside of the side surface of a mold 1 with adhesive tape. Next, liquid mixture of foam stabilizer-containing liquid resole type phenolic resin and acid hardening agent is cast in the heated mold 1. The foamed and hardened molded body in the mold has a skin layer, which has dense and uniform thickness and is formed by the sheet made of fibrous material impregnated with the resole type phenolic resin.
