The invention relates to a device forming a seat in particular for a double bass player. The seat 1 is characterised in that it comprises, at its front part, two adjacent cut-outs 1a, 1b respectively for receiving the rib of the double bass and for positioning the right leg of the musician out of the path of the double bass bow.
