PURPOSE:To attain high speed access and to improve processing efficiency by giving a track recording sampling clocks and providing read/write heads reading the sampling clocks from the track. CONSTITUTION:A read/write head selection part 4 switches which data recorded and reproduced in the read/write heads 7 and 8 to connect to a host unit, and a read/write head selection signal 1 from the host unit selects it. On the other hand, read/write heads for sampling clock reproduction 15 and 16 read the sampling clocks 17 and 18 from the private track 22, transmit them to a sampling clock switching part 19, and either of the clocks is outputted to the host unit. With such a constitution, a sampling clock generation circuit is eliminated, and accurate sampling clocks can be outputted, whereby speedy and accurate data access can be executed.
