PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as synthetic raw material for oxa-carbacyclin in high yield, by reacting a dihalo-carbonyl compound as a raw material with a specific aldehyde in the presence of zinc and a dialkylaluminum halide and treating the reaction product with acetic anhydride and a base. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by formula I (X<1> and X<2> are Cl, Br or I; R<1> is 3-10C straight-chain or branched chain alkyl, or 4-7C cycloalkyl which is not replaced or replaced with at least one 1-4C alkyl or 3-12C straight-chain or branched-chain alkenyl group) is used as a raw material, reacted with an aldehyde shown by formula R<2>-CHO [R<2> is 5-membered ring which may be replaced or bicyclo(3,3,0)octane skeleton] in the presence of zinc and a dialkylaluminum halide and then treated with a substituted sulfonyl chloride or acetic anhydride and a base to give a compound shown by formula II (A is X<1> and X<2>).
