The invention relates to a device making it possible to tilt the mirrors of external rear-view mirrors in order to avoid dazzling. It is made up of a movable mirror-carrying part which can pivot about an axis inside a fixed part. Locking on 2 stable states is provided by two permanent magnets acting on metal platelets. The tilting from one position to the other of the movable part is provided by 2 electromagnets controlled by the pulses of 2 single-pulse generators. These generators are themselves driven by the outputs of the contact of a microswitch placed behind the tilting mirror of the internal rear-view mirror.
