PURPOSE:To inform a specific type of the picture that is presently under output by using a means which stores plural pieces of information, an output means which selects one of those information stored in said storing means and delivers it to a prescribed output device, and a means which informs the general condition of output of the output means. CONSTITUTION:The picture video signals are successively converted into the digital signals from the analog signals within a video signal interface 1 and stored into a picture memory 2. Then the picture information stored in the memory 2 undergoes the D/A conversion in the interface 1 and delivered to a host computer as video signals for display. A control part 3 reads the picture of a desired number out of the memory 2 and delivers it to a printer control part 4. At the same time, the part 3 gives an instruction to a character generator 5 to produce a pattern against said page number. In such a way, the picture which is presently processed by the host computer or a prescribed picture stored in the memory 2 is displayed on a display screen set at the side of the host computer. At the same time, the page number that is presently printed out is superposed on said displayed picture.
