PURPOSE:To stably manufacture a Zr-containing Ni-base alloy containing active elements such as Si, etc., by applying electroslag remelting by using a flux consisting of CaF2, CaO, ZrO2, TiO2, Al2O3, etc. CONSTITUTION:The Zr-containing Ni-base alloy is manufactured by means of an electroslag remelting process by using a flux which contains CaF2, CaO, and ZrO2 as essential components and to which at least one or more kinds among SiO2, TiO2 and Al2O3 are further added. It is suitable to incorporate the above ZrO2 by about 5-25%, by weight, based on the quantities of CaF2 and CaO. Moreover, it is preferable that the additive quantities of SiO2, TiO2 and Al2O3 are regulated to <=about 10%, about 5-25% and about 5-30%, respectively. By this method, Zr is allowed to remain and the Zr-containing Ni-base alloy can be obtained, and further, an ingot free from segregation of active elements such as Si, Ti, Al, etc., and having superior ingot surface can be obtained with stable workability.
