PURPOSE:To improve the fixability of a developer at low temp., the offsetting and blocking resistances by using a toner based on a specified ionic cross-linked resin and carrier coated with a fluorine-contg. resin. CONSTITUTION:A developer is composed of toner particles based on a resin (A) obtd. by allowing carboxy groups present in a polymer to react with a multivalent metallic compd. such as a compd. of a zinc family metal, and carrier particles obtd. by coating the surface of a magnetic body with a fluorine-contg. resin (B). The resin A is preferably a resin having a mol.wt. distribution divided into two or more components including a low mol.wt. component whose peak is 1X10<3>-2X10<4> and a high mol.wt. component whose peak is 1X10<5>-2X10<6>. The resin B is preferably a copolymer of a monomer represented by the formula (where R8 is H or methyl, a=1-8, b=1-19 and Z is H or F) or a vinylidene fluoride-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer. |
