PURPOSE:To enable simultaneous perfect printing, enhance printing speed and reduce the quantity of a recording paper to be used, by providing a first printing mechanism part for printing on the upper side of the recording paper and a second printing mechanism part for printing on the lower side of the paper, and operating the two printing mechanism parts in synchronism with each other. CONSTITUTION:A first printing mechanism part 11 is disposed on the upper side of a recording paper 14, and prints characters, numerals or the like on the upper side of the paper 14. A second printing mechanism part 12 is disposed on the lower side of the paper 14, and prints characters, numerals or the like on the lower side of the paper 14. The two printing mechanism parts 11, 12 are operated in synchronism with each other under control of a paper feed controlling part 13, and print the characters, numerals or the like on the upper and lower sides of the paper 14 while performing a registering operation. The controlling part 13 feeds the paper 14 forward by a one- line amount in synchronism with one line printing end signals outputted from the first and second printing mechanism parts 11, 12, and outputs a printing-starting signal for printing in the next line to the mechanism parts 11, 12, thereby synchronizing printing. Thus, perfect printing on the recording paper can be performed.
