PURPOSE:To prevent an incoming call from being transferred to an absence transfer destination if a called party comes back as scheduled by setting the release time of absence transfer so as to release the transfer automatically when the designated time comes even if the setting of absence transfer is forgotten. CONSTITUTION:A called subscriber, in the event of setting absence transfer, depresses a special key from an extension of its own seat and inputs an absence transfer release designation time. A central processing unit 2 analyzes the inputted absence transfer release designation data and writes a bit S1 representing the absence transfer setting state and a bit S2 representing the absence transfer release time setting state to an absence transfer control memory section 7 of a main storage memory 3 corresponding to the extension number together with an absence transfer time release designation time TM. The central processing unit 2 compares the present time from the time counter 6 with the time TM at a prescribed time interval and applies the absence transfer release processing when they are coincident to clear the absence transfer control memory section 7 corresponding to the extension number in the main storage memory 3.
