PURPOSE:To suitably binarize a 2-dimensional image by using an area setting means which designates >=2 areas of the 2-dimensional image and a threshold value output means which outputs the threshold values set at those designated areas to a comparison means. CONSTITUTION:The objects 01-04 receive light from an inherent direction and are photographed with inherent brightness respectively according to the materials, the photodetecting values, etc., of those objects. A sampling circuit 10 and a binarizing level output circuit 14 set previously four areas A1-A4 and the binarizing levels of these areas with respect to the 2-dimensional image. Thus the binarizing level inherent to the area A1 is read out of the circuit 14 in the area A1 when one frame is scanned. As a result, the signals of an image photographed by a TV camera 1 are compared with different binarizing levels for each area and then binarized. These binarized signals are outputted real time to an output terminal OUT2 and at the same time written in a binarized signal memory circuit 12. |
