PURPOSE:To permit recording and reproduction of signals with high efficiency even in a high-frequency band by using a multi-layered magnetic core including thin ferromagnetic films which are different in the direction of anisotropy as a head core. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic core 3 consisting of the multi-layered films is constituted by laminating the thin ferromagnetic films 1 consisting of an amorphous magnetic alloy or 'SENDUST(R)', etc., via thin insulating films 2 consisting of SiO2, etc. The core 3 is constituted of both of the films 1 which have the uniaxial anisotropy within the plane of the magnetic path and in which the directions of the easy axes thereof intersect orthogonally with the plane of the magnetic gap or parallel therewith as shown by arrows. The magnetic gap is formed by sandwiching the core 3 with nonmagnetic substrates 4 consisting of barium titanate ceramics, etc., and joining the same to opposed cores having a winding 5 by means of bonding glass 6. Since the greater part of the magnetic paths of this magnetic head operate with an initial magnetic permeability characteristic and, therefore, the head exhibits high head efficiency even at a high frequency of >=30MHz. |
