PURPOSE:To obtain excellent resistance to wear and corrosion and high SN and recording density by coating a nonmagnetic metallic underlying layer and thin magnetic cobalt alloy film medium simultaneously contg. copper and nickel on a substrate thereby constituting a magnetic memory body. CONSTITUTION:The metal such as chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, vanadium, rhenium, gold or bismuth or the alloy contg. said metals is coated as the nonmagnetic metallic underlying layer 2 on the substrate 1 consisting of, for example, an aluminum alloy. The thin magnetic alloy film medium consisting of such an alloy as represented by the cobalt alloy simultaneously contg. at least the copper and nickel as the thin magnetic alloy film medium is coated on the underlying layer 2. The resistance to wear and corrosion is thus improved and the high S/N recording density are obtd.
