A plug 19 can be moved, by a movement of a fraction of a turn, between an open position in which it is moved away from a seat 12 and a closed position in which an annular bearing surface 21 of the plug 19 is applied against the seat 12. The plug 19 includes an intermediate region 23 which has a substantially constant transverse shape along a curved axis Z-Z which is engaged in a sealed and sliding manner in an annular sealing device 28 lining an orifice 29 in the wall of the pipe 3. The intermediate region 23 has an internal end 24 located in the pipe 3 and adjacent to the annular bearing surface 21, and an outer end 26 located in a chamber 36 and combined with manoeuvring means 27. Used for preventing head losses, stagnation of the fluid in the closed position, sealing devices on the control spindle. <IMAGE>
