PURPOSE:To enable a printing on a plain paper having a low smoothness, by a method wherein, a thermal head has thermal head substrates by the same number as heating element alignments, one heating element alignment is formed on the substrate along the edge part thereof, and the respective substrates are so superimposed and bonded that the heating element alignments are disposed parallel with each other at predetermined intervals. CONSTITUTION:Heating element alignments 31, 32 of both ceramic substrates 11, 12 are so set as to be pressed equally on a platen 8 and a part to be printed 9 in a printer, and the surfaces of both the substrates 11, 12 and the surface of the platen 8 are so set as to intersect at an inclination angle theta. The inclination angle theta is an angle made by the plate 8 and the surfaces of the substrates 11, 12 when the platen 8 is so positioned as to be in contact with all the heating elements in the heating element alignments 31, 32. By pressing the ceramic substrates 11, 12 against the part to be printed 9 and the platen 8 at the inclination angle theta, the pressure can be concentrated on the heating element alignments 31, 32. In this manner, the pressure concentration on the heating element parts enables a printing on a low-smoothness plain paper and also the reduction of a printing energy. |
