The tamper-proof binding consists of an outer strip 2 placed against the cover of the document and of a rod 3 placed inside the document and having pins 5 on which the leaves 1 are threaded. Said pins 5 are fixed into holes 4 in the strip 2. According to the invention, the rod 3 and the strip 2 possess inaccessible means for joining them to each other located at each of their ends. These joining means take the form of hooks 6 which fit firmly into corresponding notches 7 placed at the ends of the strip 2. In the event of excessive traction on the rod 3, the hooks 6 are designed to break to leave unconcealable evidence of the attempt to separate the leaves 1 of the document.
