PURPOSE:To reduce time and labor needed for correction of memory contents together with reduction of the memory capacity, by providing a control means which can reads the documents out of a shared part in case a page contains the documents having the same contents during the preparation of documents. CONSTITUTION:A document preparing device contains a keyboard 1, a mouse 2, a display CRT 4, a CPU 2 set in a main body 2, an external memory (disk) 6 which stores the documents and various programs, a memory 7 which evolves the document or the program read out of the disk 6, a font ROM 8 storing the fonts of the characters designated by then keyboard 1, a CRT control device 9 which controls the display of the CRT 4, a printer 10 which prints the documents stored in the memory 7, and a printer control device 11 which controls the printing operations of the printer 7. If a frame having the same contents as those of a frame of another page during the preparation of documents is contained, the corresponding frame is read out of a 2nd memory part. In other words, the 2nd memory part serves as a memory area of a shared part and therefore the memory capacity can be reduced. Furthermore the memory contents can be corrected all at once.
