PURPOSE:To automatically perform the insertion of a seal into a cylinder, fitting of the seal into a seal groove, etc., by holding the seal by a plurality of rollers so that the outer surface of the seal is made smaller than the inside diameter of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A seal 1b is bent strongly inwardly by the pushers 8a, 8b,... which shift right and left as shown by 1b and closely attached onto the outer surfaces of rollers 5a, 5b,..., and the outer circle 9 is made smaller than the dimension C of a cylinder. Said bent seal is put in bent form between a base plate and a ring base which is expandable by the springs previously arranged concentrically, and then a pusher is retreated, and the seal is inserted in bent form into a cylinder 2 and is stopped at the position in coincidence with a seal groove 3. The slide pieces 4a, 4b,... which are integrally formed with the roller are compulsorily shifted in the circumferential direction, and the seal 1 is fitted into the seal groove 3. Then, the whole apparatus is revolved in the cylinder, and thus the seal 1 is fitted perfectly into the seal groove 3. |
