PURPOSE:To perform the measurement of only a dent and selection readily, accurately, and instantaneously, and to make it possible to mount a noiseless speed change gear on an automobile, by supporting a plurality of master gears by floating rotary shafts, respectively, and measuring the amount of change in the distance between the center of a gear to be measured and the center of the respective master gear with respect to the rotation. CONSTITUTION:The face width of a master gear 1, which is machined highly accurately for eccentricity and size measurement (runout, error in 1 pitch engagement, and backlash) is shorter than the face width of a gear to be measured 3 by about 10%, and two teeth are intermeshed. The lower side of a shaft 4 of the master gear 1 is connected to a driving motor 6 through a universal coupling 5. The rotation is transmitted to the master gear 1. The gear to be measured 3 is also rotated by the intermesh. A supporting table 7 sends the amount of change in position to a measuring and operating part through a measuring part 8. The electric signals are processed and selected. The supporting table 7 and the measuring part 8 are supported on a base table 16 so that they can be moved without resistance along the line connecting the master gear and the center of the gear to be measured. The change in the distance between the gear to be measured and the master gear is read by an electric micrometer. |
