Arc tooth spindle which is capable of compensating for an axial displacement of the roll coupled to it while the pinion housing remains stationary and in which all the friction locations are included in a recirculating oil lubrication circuit. For this purpose, the spindle shaft is guided in an axially displaceable but non-rotatable manner in a coupling wobbler and a central duct is provided from which branch ducts lead to the friction surfaces between the elements displaceable axially relative to one another, to supporting balls and pressure rams and to the arc tooth clutches. <IMAGE>
