A pressure control device, especially for pressure medium-operated motor vehicle brake systems is proposed, with a control valve arranged in a housing between an inlet (10) and an outlet (11), which valve is provided in a control piston (2), which is displaceable against a control force as a function of the pressure, an inertial body (86), movable as a function of the acceleration, which triggers a control piston (3), the control piston (3) moving the valve closing element (7) of the control valve. In order, at justifiable technical expense, to prevent impairments of the pressure control device due to flow velocities and viscosity of the pressure medium, it is proposed that the inertial body (86) be provided in an electrical switch designed as G-sensor (70) and that it control the electrical connection between the voltage source (71) and the solenoid valve (72) which controls the pressure medium actuation of the control piston (3). <IMAGE>
