PURPOSE:To readily and efficiently obtain flat glass of special shape simply by selectively inputting specified numerical information, by cutting a raw flat glass sheet using a cutter attached to the first and second running units constituted so as to freely running in the X- and Y-axis directions on a table through a numerical control device. CONSTITUTION:The first running unit 2, constituted of a male screw 3, horizontal bar material 4, the first reversible motor 5 and transmission mechanism 6 and reciprocative in the X-axis direction is provided on a table 1 and the second running unit 7, constituted of a slider 8, male screw 9, transmission mechanism 10 and the second reverse motor 11 and reciprocative in the Y-axis direction is attached to the first running unit 2. The first cutter 12 for the X-axis direction, second cutter 13 for the Y-axis direction and third cutter 14 for a special shape are liftably mounted to the second running unit 7 through parallel lifting units 15. A raw flat glass sheet is then placed on the table 1 and numerical information on values of coordinates forming cutting lines to a desired special shape to a numerical control device. Circuits of motors 5 and 11 are controlled according to the numerical information to initially form cutting lines in the X- and Y-axis directions with cutters 12 and 13 and blank a plate, such as rectangle, slightly larger than the size of the outer shape of the desired special shape. The aimed special shape is then blanked with the third cutter 14.
