PURPOSE:To decrease useless access of the auxiliary storage device by providing a common buffer area to an area accessed in common to a main storage device and informing the location of a buffer area to a program when the file is already transferred to the buffer area. CONSTITUTION:The buffer area 11 provided individually by each program is provided to the area accessed in common on a main storage device 3 and when the same file 2 exists already on the buffer area 11, the file 2 is not transferred from the auxiliary storage device 1 and the location of the buffer area 11 storing the content of the file 2 is informed to the program. In accessing the same file, useless information transmission between the auxiliary storage device 1 and the main storage device 3 is omitted and the file is used in common between plural programs.
