In the process for coating an air-impermeable moulded part, the spaces on both sides of a film held above the moulded part are evacuated and the film is heated. Thereupon, the space located on that side of the film facing away from the moulded part is ventilated, whereas the space on that side of the film in which the moulded part is located continues to be under subatmospheric pressure. The differential pressure resulting from this presses the film onto the moulded part. <IMAGE>
