To form a window panel, for example, consisting of glass sheets 71 and 73 laminated to a core of epoxy resin containing photochromic dye, the glass sheets are held by suction against platens 13 and 15 to maintain them flat and parallel. Vacuum is applied to grooves 43, 43a in the platens which may form a rectangular grid. The platens are located by L-shaped brackets 59, 59a which are held together by clamping bolts. The space 93 between the sheets 71 and 73, which may be surrounded by a frame member of the window, is filled with the epoxy resin. |
