<p>The element, placed on a support (72) presents its cross-section to the cutting. It can be moved along its lengthwise axis. <??>It is compressed in the immediate proximity of the cutting section by means of at least one clamp (73, 74) and between two cuts the clamp(s) is (are) released, the element is then moved forward by the desired length, the clamp(s) is (are) retightened. The end pieces cut with a means for cutting the end pieces fall into a stationary means for removing the end pieces (80).
