PURPOSE:To improve the control of a cooling temp. for a metallic strip by estimating statistically the relation between the quantity of cooling heat for the succeeding kind of steel and the flow rate of cooling wind from the past actual data in the stage of changing the kind of the steel to be passed and correcting adequately the cooling effect by radiation. CONSTITUTION:The equation F=a(Q-b) is used in feed forward control. F is the flow rate of cooling wind, Q is the quantity of cooling heat, (a) is coefft. of learning which corrects the coefft. of the equation for calculating the quantity of heat, and (b) is the coefft. of learning which corrects the effect of radiation cooling. More specifically, the proportional constant and constant term of a linear functional expression are statistically estimated from the past actual data with respect to the relation between the quantity Q of cooling heat and the flow rate F of cooling wind. The required flow rate of cooling wind in the stage of changing the kind of steel is calculated by using such estimated values and the feed forward control is performed. The responsiveness of the control is thus improved and the yield of product is improved. |
