Sliding thrust bearings with at least one groove stamped into the sliding surface for the purpose of feeding liquid lubricant to the sliding surface are designed for the effective interception and collection of foreign bodies in the groove by forming the groove with side walls arranged essentially at right angles to the sliding surface and with at least one angular fillet formed along one side wall at the transition to the bottom surface of the groove. For this purpose, the groove is stamped into the semi-finished piece for the sliding thrust bearing by means of a knife-like stamping tool, the material along the side edges of the groove being displaced from the sliding surface, at right angles to the plane of the latter, towards the centre of the groove. This process is preferably performed in two stages, the stamping in of the side edges of the groove being followed, in a second stamping cut, by the pressing towards the base of the groove of the material displaced towards the centre of the groove, the said material thereby being distributed in the groove and displaced sideways underneath the groove. |
