A one-piece, approximately dish-shaped gearing housing, on which an output shaft having a hollow gearwheel is mounted, possesses a bearing eye which projects in front of the open side of the hollow gear and in which there is horizontally mounted a drive shaft of higher rotational speed and having a pinion engaging in the hollow gear, the hollow gear and the pinion having intermeshing helical toothings. To provide a gearing of this type which can be subjected to high loads while being of low production cost, the helical toothing is inclined with respect to the axial direction such that the axial thrusts exerted by it, during operation, upon the hollow gear and the pinion prestress the drive shaft towards the interior of the hollow gear. The hollow gear preferably possesses a slideway on which the drive shaft is supported by a supporting surface. <IMAGE>
