PURPOSE:To form a rotational flow in a sense, where a suction flow is accelerated, and make improvements in air capacity and static pressure, by installing an annular suction plate, whose section is semicircular form, in a suction port of a body case, in case of a device which installs an impeller in the body case having both suction and exhaust ports. CONSTITUTION:A ventilating fan has a suction port 9 and a discharge port 6 and installs an electric motor 4 in a body case 1 to be attached to the inside of the ventilating opening formed on a wall or the like via a mounting leg 2. And, an impeller 3 is attached to a shaft of the motor 4. In this case, a suction plate 8, whose section is semicircular form, formed into annular form is attached to the suction port 9 of the body case 1, and a decorative sheet 7 is attached to the outside so as to cover the suction plate 8. And in this suction plate 8, the outer diameter D2 is formed into the same as an inner diameter of the body case 1, while the inner diameter D1 is set in the range of 0.6-0.8 of an outer diameter D3 of the impeller 3. In addition, curvature of the inner surface is set to such a value that a borderline of the curvature is adjoined to it successively as in R1-R3.
