PURPOSE:To find out a simple input mistake such as a spelling error of a word at key entry by providing various dictionaries in response to applications and word spelling discrimination function to a keyboard. CONSTITUTION:Words or command groups stored in a storage medium 10 are stored from an external device 9 to a dictionary storage area 6 and a user dictionary storage area 7 at the leading of the system. A character or a symbol inputted from the keyboard 1 is compared with a work or a command stored in the area 6 for each character string (word or command) and a spelling mistake is checked and the result is displayed on a display device 12 connected to a computer 11. In this case, if any spelling error exists, the attribute of the character string is subject to turn over indication on the display device 12. Thus, misspelling of the word or command is found out at key entry.
