摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a large discharge capacity and an excellent charge and discharge cycle by using activated carbon as the main component of a positive electrode and a specific carbide as a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:Activated carbon powder (preferably made of petroleum coke) with the specific surface area of preferably 1500-3500m<2>/g is formed into a sheet with an adhesive excellent in chemical resistance such as polytetra fluoroethylene TPTFE and used as a positive electrode. A carbohydrate obtained from a condensation polymer compound containing an aromatic element and nitrogen and at least partially graphitized is used as a negative electrode. Preferably, a material with the hydrogen/carbon atom ratio of 0.35 or below and the face spacing of 3.37Angstrom or more on the (002) face of carbon determined by the X-ray diffraction method is used. As the condensation polymer compound, aromatic polyimide, aromatic polyamide, aromatic polyamideimide, aromatic polyoxadiazol, aromatic polybenzimidazol, and their derivative are preferable. Accordingly, a large electrostatic capacity and the excellent charge and discharge characteristic can be obtained.
